Linear LED lamps and their use

One way or another, but already by the mid-2000s and by 2010 — finally, it became clear to everyone that the usual linear fluorescent lamps will gradually become a thing of the past and LED light sources will come to replace them. The market for LED lighting products is developing at an unimaginable pace today, and in the coming years LEDs have every chance to completely replace other technologies for obtaining light.

But why does this happen, since linear fluorescent lamps are economical, in addition to being time-tested, it is no coincidence that they can be found in almost every office, in municipal and administrative buildings?

The answer lies in the distinctive features of LEDs. LEDs are even more economical, have a long service life and, most importantly, do not require a special disposal approach. While linear fluorescent lamps, which have become traditional for industrial enterprises and commercial areas, are subject to mandatory specific disposal because they contain mercury, LED lamps allow you to avoid this expense item. This is especially true for legal entities.

Linear LED lamps

Due to the listed advantages of LEDs, it is not at all surprising that a large number of large companies have already decided to switch to a new type of lighting. The most popular step, however, turns out to be simply replacing the light fixtures with linear tube fluorescent lamps with LEDs.

This is not the best solution. It makes much more sense to leave the lamp housing in place and replace the lamps themselves. Fortunately, linear LED lamps have already appeared on the market, the standard dimensions of which completely correspond to tubular fluorescent lamps.

Before installing LED lights, you just have to remember to remove everything from the standard lamp circuits. ballasts (ballasts or electronic ballasts)or avoid them safely. As a result, the installation of LED lamps does not require dismantling the lighting fixtures, since even the contacts will remain in place.

Linear LED lamps give a uniform, moderate contrast, high-quality glow that is not at all tiring for the human nervous system and is safe for the eyes. In addition, these lamps are twice as economical as fluorescent lamps, and their service life reaches 12 years.

LED lamp

Structurally, the linear LED lamp is an elongated polycarbonate bulb with an electronic ballast and LEDs inside. The more LEDs and the more powerful they are, the more light such a lamp will give.

Here it is important to pay attention to the fact that the bulb is not made of glass, therefore, even if you accidentally drop the lamp during installation, it will not break into small fragments and will not cause any particular problems.

The tube can be transparent or opaque. If there is no diffuser, choose an opaque lamp, if there is a diffuser, transparent.Typical office lighting fixtures usually do not have diffusers, so opaque LED lamps are usually chosen for offices.

The LED lamp takes no time to light up, lights up instantly and immediately gives light with maximum intensity. The lamp bulb, like the other parts, is resistant to vibration, so there is no doubt about its durability and reliability.

In conditions of poor-quality power supply, overvoltage, it is not at all surprising that the electronics of the lamp (ballast) can be damaged. But in the worst case, the user will have to change only one burned-out lamp, since each linear LED lamp is an independent individual lamp equipped with its own electronic ballast, and it is by no means a fact that everything will fail at once.

Additional options for optimal lighting organization are provided by an adjustable angle through which the LED lamp can be rotated. The light flow will be directed rationally, exactly where maximum lighting is required, this will give additional savings, allowing you to cope with fewer lamps.

Speaking of benefits, one must consider the cost of replacing lamps versus the cost of replacing the entire light fixture. Refitting as such is not required, and a set of new lamps for an already installed illuminator will materially cost the user twice as cheap as if the entire illuminator was replaced, with accompanying dismantling and installation work. The savings are obvious.

When planning the installation of lighting fixtures in newly adopted new premises, it is important that the user does not forget about the current possibilities of a wide selection of lighting fixtures filled with linear LED lamps. Transparent, matte, corrugated, different sizes, for different number of LED lamps, etc.
