Fans for electrical cabinets
One of the simplest ways to maintain the basic parameters of the microclimate and ensure air exchange is ventilation. Thanks to it, you can lower the temperature and humidity of the air, cool the equipment, eliminate gas pollution, etc. We recall that these factors have a serious impact not only on people, but also on devices, especially electrical equipment.
Types of equipment for microclimate control in closed spaces
In many cases, the normal operation of electrical equipment does not require high accuracy of microclimate parameters adjustment. These situations are usually solved by automation and control cabinet fans.
The complete set of devices includes:
- cooling devices: air conditioners, chillers;
- heaters;
- fans;
- thermostats;
- hydrostats and so on.
A thermostat, hydrostat, or combination device is used to control fan operation depending on the presence of harmful factors. Supply fans are used for air exchange in electrical cabinets.They create excess pressure that prevents dust from entering through holes and loose connections in the housing.
Main characteristics of fans for electrical enclosures
The relatively small internal volume of electrical cabinets allows the use of low-power axial fans. Their main characteristics are as follows:
- filtration class — G2, G3, G4;
- degree of protection — IP33, IP54, IP55;
- air capacity with free flow — 25-705 m3/hour.
If there is no space on the side walls of the box, use a roof fan... Models intended for installation on the roof of the device are equipped with a mounting cap made of sheet metal with a polymer anti-corrosion coating. This design protects the control cabinet roof fans from accidental damage.
When using fan filters, the air capacity is reduced by 20-40%, which must be taken into account when determining the required air exchange.
In order to ensure the maximum ventilation effect of electrical cabinets, it is necessary that the device is located at the lowest point of the housing, and the exhaust grill is as far away from it as possible. Filters can be included with this technique or purchased separately. Depending on the type, they are able to retain dust, fibers, oil vapors.
