Repair of insulator

After wiping, the insulators are carefully inspected and checked to see if cracks and chips have appeared on the glaze surface during the overhaul period with an area of more than 1 cm2 and a depth of 1 mm, regardless of whether the reinforcement of the caps and flanges is strong.

Insulators with chips up to 1 cm2 are not changed, but the defective spots are covered with two layers of Bakelite or Glyphtal varnish with drying of each layer.

If the reinforcement has disintegrated, it must be restored. For reinforcement, the surface of porcelain and metal is cleaned of dirt and oil stains, and the crushed volume is filled with putty prepared from 1 hour of Portland cement and 1.5 hours of sand mixed with water in a ratio of 100 by weight. hours of mixture for 40 hours of water. This screed can be used for 1 - 1.5 hours.

Repair of insulator

If it is necessary to restore the reinforcement of the insulators, in contact with transformer oil, the reinforcing composition is prepared from 3 hours of bedding and 1 hour of technical vaseline. The preparation of this screed is accompanied by emissions of harmful gases, therefore the room must be well ventilated.

If large chips and cracks are found on the insulators, replace them with new ones, which should not differ from the established height by more than 1 — 2 mm, have a displacement of the insulator and the cap more than 3 mm.
