Blasting is a new way to clean metal from rust

Every modern production, every modern equipment has metal surfaces. For all its reliability and durability, this the material is corrosive, rust, pollution. In this regard, the cleaning of the surface of metals is in great demand today. The methods of cleaning metals are different. Many related technologies have been developed and implemented in recent years. One of them is blasting.

Blasting is a method of cleaning various surfaces using a directed jet of cleaning agent. Thanks to the high pressure and the characteristics of the agents used, a cleaning effect is achieved. With the help of blasting, many types of work are carried out to clean various surfaces, for example: removing paint, cleaning metal from rust, cleaning boilers and others.

Today, the most common types of blasting are cryogenic and soft.

Cryogenic blasting uses compressed air under high pressure and granules of dry ice (carbon dioxide, CO2). These granules strike and impact the contaminated area at high speed.In this case, the cleaning effect occurs not only as a result of collision with the surface, but also due to its cooling. This procedure requires a certain amount of carbon dioxide, as well as special equipment to work with it. After all the work is finished, cleaning the area adjacent to the cleaning object does not cause difficulties. This is another advantage of cryogenic blasting.

Soft blasting (soda blasting) based on the use of sodium bicarbonate or calcium carbonate as a reagent. When this substance hits the surface, a reaction (explosion) occurs, as a result of which the pollution is eliminated. Here, as in the case of cryogenic blasting, there is no waste of any kind as a result of the work done. Sodojet equipment is so mobile and compact that it can be used to clean surfaces in limited spaces. It is noteworthy that the procedure does not require a complete shutdown of the machine or production.

Such metal purification methods are effective and preferred over others. This is primarily due to the fact that the use of blasting is safe both for the people using it (compared to a chemical cleaning method) and for the cleaned metal surface (compared to sandblasting, throwing or manual cleaning). In this case, no mechanical damage is caused to the metal. The metal is refined and its structure remains intact. Thus, there are no prerequisites for corrosive processes.

Blasting is also convenient from a technical point of view. It does not require complex metal cleaning equipment. No need to manually clean everything for a long time. Of course, you can't do without the necessary explosive equipment and reagents.But their price is low, and their efficiency is much higher. In this way, the cleaning of metal jets is more efficient, safe and cheap.

Metal blasting is in demand when you need to remove various contaminants, clean the surface of rust, remove traces of metal corrosion, remove paint, clean the surface of oil contamination and in other cases.

Obviously, such problems arise everywhere: in the operation of cars, marine vessels and industrial equipment. Either the area to be treated or the complexity of the contamination to be removed may vary.
