Decoding PML launcher labels

Decoding PML launcher labelsPML electromagnetic starters are designed for remote starting by direct connection to the mains, stopping and reversing three-phase asynchronous electric motors with a squirrel-cage rotor in voltage up to 660 V AC with a frequency of 50 Hz, and in the version with three-pole thermal relays of the RTL series — for protection of controlled electric motors from unacceptable duration of overload and from currents arising as a result of breaking one of the phases.

Starters can be equipped with surge arresters such as arresters. Surge-equipped starters are suitable for operation in control systems using microprocessor technology when switching coil shunting with an interference suppression device or with thyristor control.

Nominal alternating voltage of closing coils: 24, 36, 40, 48, 110, 127, 220, 230, 240, 380, 400, 415, 500, 660 V frequency 50 Hz and 110, 220, 380, 400, 415, 440 V frequency 60 Hz.

PML magnetic starter

PML starters for currents 10 — 63 A have a W-type front magnetic system.The contact system is located in front of the magnetic one. The movable part of the electromagnet is integral with the traverse, in which the movable contacts and their springs are provided.

The RTL series thermal relays are connected directly to the starter housings.

Decoding PML starters is to determine the meaning of each digit in the designation of an electrical appliance.

Decoding PML

Designation of magnetic starters PML-XXXXXXXXX:

  • PML — series;
  • X is the size of the starter at rated current (1 — 10 A, 2 — 25 A, 3 — 40 A, 4 — 63 A);
  • X — version of starters by purpose and presence of thermal relay (1 — non-reversible, without thermal relay; 2 — non-reversible, with thermal relay; 5 — reversible starter without thermal relay with mechanical blocking for degree of protection IP00 and IP20 and with electrical and mechanical interlocks for degree of protection IP40 and IP54; 6 — reversible starter with a thermal relay with electrical and mechanical interlocks; 7 — star-delta starter with degree of protection 54);
  • X — version of starters according to the degree of protection and the presence of control buttons and a signal lamp (0 — IP00; 1 — IP54 without buttons; 2 — IP54 with «Start» and «Stop» buttons; 3 — IP54 with «Start» buttons , «Stop» and signal lamp (produced only for voltages 127, 220 and 380 V, 50 Hz); 4 — IP40 without buttons; 5 — IP40 with buttons «Start» and «Stop»; 6 — IP20) ;
  • X — the number and type of contacts of the auxiliary circuit (0 — 1c (for a current of 10 and 25 A), 1c + 1p (for a current of 40 and 63 A), alternating current; 1 — 1p (for a current of 10 and 25 A), alternating current; 2 — 1c (for current 10, 25, 40 and 63 A), alternating current; 5 — 1c (for 10 and 25 A), direct current; 6 — 1p (for current 10 and 25 A) , direct current); X — earthquake-resistant version of starters (C);
  • X-version of starters with mounting of standard rails P2-1 and P2-3;
  • XX — climatic version (O) and placement category (2, 4);
  • X — performance in terms of switching wear resistance (A, B, C).

Starters for currents 10, 25, 40 and 63 A allow the installation of one additional contact attachment PKL or pneumatic attachment PVL.

The nominal current of the contacts of PVL attachments and signal contacts of starters is 10 A.

The nominal current of the contacts of PKL attachments is 16 A. PVL attachments have 1 NO and 1 NC contacts, PKL attachments have 2 or 4 contacts (can be NO and NC).
