Marking of the cable

Marking of the cableAfter the installation of the cable network is completed, the routes of the cable lines are applied to the plan, with their coordinates referring to the existing permanent buildings. If the route cannot be plotted on the plan, identification marks are placed on it to which the line is attached.

The marking of cable lines and the placing of identification signs and inscriptions along the route is carried out in accordance with the following: each cable line must have its own number or name. If the cable line consists of several parallel cables, then each of them must have the same number with the addition of the letters A, B, C, etc.

Open cables, as well as all cable glands, must be provided with labels with the designation: on the labels of the cables and end connectors - brand, voltage, section, number or name of the lines, on the labels of the connectors - number of the connector and date of installation . Labels must be resistant to environmental influences.

Marking of the cableFor cables laid in cable structures, labels must be placed along the length at least every 50 m. cable line routeplaced in undeveloped areas, identification signs must be posted. The route of a cable line laid on cultivated land must be marked with signs installed at a distance of at least 500 m, as well as in places where the direction of the route changes.

The identification signs show the number of the picket (for example PK -17) and the voltage sign — in red paint, the rest — in black.

On cables laid in cable structures, labels should also be installed in places where the direction of the route changes, on both sides of the passages through inter-floor ceilings, walls, partitions, at the points of entry (exit) of cables in trenches and cable constructions.

On hidden cables in pipes or blocks, labels must be installed at the end points of the end connectors, in the wells and chambers of the block sewer, as well as at each connector. On hidden cables in trenches, labels are installed at the end points and at each joint.

Marking of the cableLabels should be used in dry areas - plastic, steel or aluminum. In wet rooms, outside buildings and in the ground — made of plastic. Markings on labels for underground cables and cables laid in rooms with a chemically active environment must be made by stamping, punching or burning.

For cables laid in other conditions, the marking is allowed to be applied with indelible paint. The labels should be fixed on the cables with nylon thread, or with galvanized steel wire with a diameter of 1 - 2 mm, or with plastic tape with a button. The place where the label is attached to the cable with wire, and the wire itself in damp rooms, outside buildings and in the ground, should be covered with bitumen to protect it from moisture.

MKD mechanical pencil is used for marking plastic, lead and aluminum labels.

Its use allows mechanical cutting to apply permanent and legible markings to labels. This method significantly increases labor productivity (26 — 30 labels per hour) compared to other marking methods. For cables up to 1 kV it is customary to use a rectangular label, and for cables above 1 kV a circular one.
