The use of diesel power plants as a backup source of energy

Alternative energy supply is becoming relevant in a number of cases. And the main one is the unavailable centrally fed current. Another important reason is regular power outages, frequent accidents. For remote cottages, summer cottages, small businesses, farms, the only way out is often an autonomous power supply — a small power plant with a generator of a certain power.

Modern industry offers several types of power generators, taking into account the type of fuel they work on. The most popular of them are gas, gasoline and diesel. When you buy a diesel power plant, it will cost more than a gasoline one, but in the future it will provide greater savings due to the more economical fuel.

Diesel power plants are environmentally friendly, safe and easy to operate. They are most often used for small industry, agriculture, production workshops. Typically, the diesel power plant is mounted on a frame and equipped with a closed housing, which provides ease of use and aesthetics.

The body protects the device blocks from external influences. The power plant is equipped with a large fuel supply tank. How many hours the power plant can run without refueling depends on the capacity of the tank. This is usually 8-12 hours. When buying such a generator, a rather practical solution is to create a small warehouse for fuel storage. Although diesel generators can withstand fairly large temperature fluctuations, their installation usually requires a separate room large enough to support the tracks. Room requirements include a flat floor, exhaust pipe, cable ducts and switchboard. To operate safely, the power plant requires a constant flow of cold air.

Such stationary power plants are usually used as mains. There is also a container version of diesel generators, which allows the installation of the station on the street. There are also mobiles. Their power is less, their dimensions are also smaller, but the main convenience — transportability — allows the use of such installations as emergency and additional if necessary.

Buying a diesel power plant requires a careful approach and calculations. First of all, you need to determine for what purposes it is necessary, what source will be used - the main, backup or emergency. Based on this, the power of the installation is selected. So, for example, for emergency purposes, it is not worth buying a large-capacity installation.If it is a diesel power plant providing the main power, then it is better to choose a maximum power engine equipped with a water cooling system. If it is assumed that the generator will work around the clock throughout the year, then the choice is unequivocal: for this purpose, it is recommended to purchase only a power plant with a diesel engine, the crankshaft of which gives 1500 revolutions per minute. Engine cooling is only liquid. These units work, for example, on construction sites, in production workshops.

Currently, power plants are being produced that can be connected to a computer and managed from the office, making monitoring and management even more convenient.
